Stephen F. Austin at Southeastern Louisiana
HAMMOND, La. (Interstat) — The Southeastern Louisiana Lions will look to complete a series sweep when they host the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks in the finale of a three-game set Sunday afternoon at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
First pitch is scheduled for Sunday, March 15, 2026, under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature of 73 degrees.
The Lions (11-8) have taken the first two games of the series, winning 8-1 on Friday and holding on for an 8-7 victory Saturday. Southeastern Louisiana’s offense has been potent, averaging eight runs per game in the series.
A key figure in that attack has been first baseman Brody Capps. In Saturday’s win, Capps went 3 for 5 with a home run and three RBIs. He is batting .429 (6 for 14) with two homers and seven RBIs over his last four games.
The Lumberjacks (10-9), meanwhile, aim to salvage a game and halt a three-game skid. They will look for a stronger start from right-hander Cody Templeton, who is slated to take the mound. Templeton struggled in relief Saturday, allowing five earned runs in five innings in the 8-7 loss. In his previous start on March 6, he was more effective, giving up two earned runs over six innings with seven strikeouts.
Stephen F. Austin’s offense showed life in the late innings Saturday, highlighted by a three-run home run from shortstop Trey Acreman.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 7-4 victory for Southeastern Louisiana.
Following the series, Stephen F. Austin travels to face Texas-Arlington on Tuesday. Southeastern Louisiana remains home to host Oklahoma on Tuesday.
