Panganiban’s Grand Slam Powers Matadors to Rout of Waves

LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — Kyle Panganiban hit a fourth-inning grand slam to cap an eight-run rally, and Cal State Northridge routed Pepperdine 12-1 on Monday at Matador Field.

The Matadors sent 11 batters to the plate in the fifth, with Trent Abel adding a two-run double ahead of Panganiban’s decisive blast to left-center. Northridge had taken control with a five-run third, keyed by Matthew Thomas’s two-run triple.

Pepperdine scored its lone run in the third on a bases-loaded walk by Dell’Amico. The Waves managed just six hits.

Cal State Northridge improved to 10-6. Pepperdine fell to 3-12.
