Stetson Holds Off Arkansas Rally for Series Victory

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Interstat) — Stetson built a six-run lead in the first inning and its bullpen preserved it for a 6-4 win over Arkansas on Monday afternoon at Baum Stadium, securing the series victory.

Yohann Dessureault provided the early power with a three-run homer in the first. Arkansas chipped away, highlighted by Reese Robinett’s two-run shot in the second, but could not complete the comeback before an evening crowd of 8,713.

Stetson reliever Connor Ball was dominant, throwing 5 2/3 hitless innings with eight strikeouts to stifle the Razorbacks’ offense. Arkansas out-hit Stetson 12-9 but stranded nine runners. The Hatters improved to 7-10, while the Razorbacks fell to 12-5.
