Florida Rallies Past Florida A&M in Midweek Clash, Improves to 13‑1

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (Interstat) — The Florida Gators rallied from an early five-run deficit to defeat the Florida A&M Rattlers 7-5 on Wednesday evening at Alfred A. McKethan Stadium.

Florida A&M capitalized on an early error to score five runs in the first two innings. The Gators chipped away, tying the game in the seventh on a hit-by-pitch before taking the lead on a costly throwing error by the Rattlers’ pitcher that allowed two unearned runs to score.

Sam Miller’s two-run single in the second keyed Florida’s comeback, and he finished with three RBIs. Five Florida relievers combined for 6 1/3 scoreless innings, highlighted by Caden McDonald’s three shutout frames. The Rattlers’ bullpen, led by Cody Williams and Clark Lincoln, held Florida hitless for 4 2/3 innings before the decisive seventh.

Florida (13-1) won its sixth straight. Florida A&M fell to 3-9.
