ARLINGTON, Texas (Interstat) — Evan Blanco allowed two hits over 5 1/3 innings and Tennessee used a pair of sixth-inning doubles to defeat Virginia Tech 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at Clay Gould Ballpark.

Blanco struck out six and allowed one earned run, outdueling Virginia Tech’s Ethan Grim, who did not allow a hit but walked five over five innings, yielding two runs. Nick Locurto provided the Hokies’ offense with a solo home run in the fourth, tying the game briefly.

Tennessee broke the tie in the sixth. Blaine Brown hit an RBI double to score Jayden Abernathy, and Levi Clark followed with another double to plate Brown. Brayden Krenzel earned the save with three scoreless innings of relief for the Volunteers (8-3). The Hokies fell to 7-4.
