California Baptist at San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — Two of the West Coast’s hottest early-season college baseball teams meet Thursday when the California Baptist Lancers visit the San Francisco Dons at Dante Benedetti Diamond at Max Ulrich Field.

First pitch is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, under cloudy skies with temperatures around 62 degrees.

The Lancers (7-2) bring the better overall record, but are looking to rebound from a 7-5 home loss to Cal State Northridge on Tuesday. Their bullpen was a bright spot in that defeat, with Alfredo Capacete, Cameron Teper and Zachary Yates combining for 5 2/3 innings of strong relief. Capacete, a key player to watch, has been dominant lately, striking out six and allowing no hits over his last 2 1/3 innings across two appearances.

California Baptist had won seven straight, including a four-game sweep of Seattle, prior to the Northridge loss.

The Dons (5-2) are riding high after a 9-3 win over San Jose State on Sunday. Gauge Lockhart is a player to watch for San Francisco, having earned the win in that game with 4 1/3 innings of relief, allowing three hits and two earned runs. Jayden Garrison provided the power, hitting a home run and driving in three runs.

Both teams have found success with pitching depth early this season. The Interstat game simulator projects a high-scoring affair, favoring California Baptist 7-6.

This game marks the start of a three-game series between the schools. They will also play Friday and Saturday in San Francisco before the Lancers continue a road swing and the Dons prepare for a four-game set against Massachusetts-Lowell.
