Southern Indiana at Saint Louis

ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — A surging Southern Indiana squad aims to extend its winning streak against a struggling Saint Louis team when the Screaming Eagles visit the Billikens for a non-conference matchup Wednesday at Billiken Sports Center.

First pitch is scheduled for the afternoon. Game-time temperatures are forecast to be near 38 degrees with cloudy skies.

Southern Indiana (6-2) enters riding a four-game win streak, including a three-game sweep of Oakland last weekend. The Screaming Eagles’ offense has been potent, scoring 10 or more runs in five of their eight games.

A key performer has been reliever Levin East, who threw three perfect innings with three strikeouts in a 7-6 win over Oakland on Saturday. He is expected to be a pivotal arm out of the bullpen.

Saint Louis (0-7) is still searching for its first victory. The Billikens dropped three games at North Alabama last weekend, though reliever Ty Holman provided a bright spot Sunday with three hitless innings and five strikeouts.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Southern Indiana is projected to win 8-1.

Following this game, Southern Indiana travels for a three-game series at North Alabama beginning Friday. Saint Louis opens a three-game home set against Bellarmine on Friday.
