GAINESVILLE, Fla. (Interstat) — The Florida Gators rallied from an early six-run deficit to defeat the Kennesaw State Owls 12-9 on Sunday afternoon at Alfred A. McKethan Stadium, completing a three-game series sweep.

The Owls stunned the home crowd by batting around and scoring six runs in the top of the first inning, highlighted by an RBI triple from Cooper Williams, who finished 3 for 5. Kennesaw State built a 9-2 lead.

Florida chipped away, tying the game with a four-run sixth inning. Ethan Surowiec’s two-run single capped the rally, part of his four-RBI day. The Gators took the lead for good on an RBI single and a throwing error in the seventh. Reliever Jackson Barberi earned the win with 2 1/3 scoreless innings.

Kennesaw State (3-3) scored three unearned runs in the ninth but left the bases loaded. Florida (7-1) won despite being outhit 10-9.
