North Florida Routs Florida A&M in High-Scoring Affair

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Interstat) — The North Florida Ospreys erupted for 15 runs on 10 hits Wednesday evening to defeat the Florida A&M Rattlers 15-4 at Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium.

North Florida (3-2) scored five runs in the first inning and seven in the third to build an insurmountable lead. Matthew Farner provided the biggest blow with a three-run homer in the third. Jackson Toberman and Sean Benjamin each drove in three runs for the Ospreys.

Florida A&M (1-3) managed eight hits, including a 3-for-4 afternoon from Justen Crews, and scored two of its runs on sacrifice flies. The Rattlers’ four runs all came in the first two innings.

The lopsided result defied a pregame projection from Interstat that narrowly favored Florida A&M.
