CAIRNS, Australia (Interstat) — Tasmania will visit the Cairns Taipans in an Australian NBL game Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, at Cairns Convention Centre in Cairns City, Australia. Tasmania enters the matchup with a 1-0 record, while Cairns is 0-1.

Tasmania opened its season with a 96-91 home win against South East Melbourne on Monday, Sept. 21. David Johnson scored 26 points and added six rebounds and six assists in 26 minutes. Will Magnay finished with 14 points, four rebounds, six assists and one block in 25 minutes. Taran Armstrong scored 19 points with two rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes. Johnson is the player to watch for Tasmania after that all-around effort.

Cairns began its season with a 111-90 loss at Sydney on Sunday, Sept. 20. Keanu Pinder scored 27 points with five rebounds and four assists in 27 minutes.
