CANCUN (Interstat) — Cancun El Calor defeated visiting Gambusinos 82-71 on Thursday, using a 29-point fourth quarter to erase a six-point deficit. Gambusinos led 39-38 at halftime and carried a 59-53 advantage into the final period. El Calor then surged. Kiandre Gaddy paced Gambusinos with 16 points, nine rebounds, one assist and two blocks. Gelvis Solano, El Calor’s top star, keyed the hosts with 16 points, five rebounds and five assists. Jezreel De Jesus scored 20 points for Gambusinos, adding three rebounds, four assists and one block. Sa Eed Nelson contributed 19 points and three assists for El Calor. Francis King added 20 points, three rebounds, three assists and one block. Christian Alaekwe had 14 points, seven rebounds and one block for Gambusinos. Jarell Eddie scored 13 points for El Calor, while Willie Reed grabbed nine rebounds. Kelby Kramer had four points and three rebounds for Gambusinos, and Victor Rudd added five rebounds and three assists for El Calor. Cancun El Calor improved to 7-11. Gambusinos fell to 8-9.
