CHIHUAHUA (Interstat) — The Jal. Astros defeated the Gambusinos 88-80 on Saturday night, avenging a loss from the previous night. Jal. Astros led 23-18 after the first quarter and extended the lead to 48-36 at halftime. They held a 69-52 advantage entering the fourth quarter before the Gambusinos mounted a comeback, outscoring them 28-19 in the final period but falling short.

Paco Cruz led Jal. Astros with 19 points, five assists and two rebounds in 31 minutes. Eugene Phelps added 15 points and nine rebounds, while A.J. Slaughter scored 12 points with three rebounds and three assists. D.J. Cooper dished nine assists to go with seven points.

Travis Daniels paced the Gambusinos with 18 points and five rebounds. Kelby Kramer contributed six points and nine rebounds. Victor Alvarez scored 11 points and four assists.

Jal. Astros improved to 78-14 with the win, while Gambusinos dropped to 6-15. The game was part of the Mexican LNBP schedule.
