CANCUN, Mexico (Interstat) — Avery Anderson III scored 23 points and dished out five assists to lead the Jal. Astros to an 88-79 victory over Cancun El Calor on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026. Jal. jumped to a 23-16 lead after the first quarter and extended the margin to 45-34 at halftime. A 30-14 third quarter pushed the advantage to 75-48, but Cancun responded with a 31-13 fourth-quarter surge before falling short. Anderson was supported by Jasper Floyd’s 12 points and five rebounds, Eugene Phelps’ 11 points and nine rebounds, Pedro Bombino Parada’s nine points and Yoanki Mansia’s eight rebounds for the Astros, who improved to 6-3 in the Mexican LNBP. Francis King paced Cancun with 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and two blocks. Brevin Galloway added 21 points and D.J. Mitchell contributed 17 points, five rebounds and four assists for El Calor, which dropped to 3-7. The teams met a night earlier, with Jal. winning 89-50.
