Gambusinos vs. Fuerza Regia

SAN PEDRO GARZA GARCÍA, Mexico (Interstat) — Fuerza Regia hosts Gambusinos on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Gimnasio Nuevo León in a Mexican Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP) matchup. Fuerza Regia enters with a 4-2 record across all competitions, while Gambusinos are 2-4.

Fuerza Regia is coming off a 101-100 overtime victory over Irapuato on Sunday. Center Wayne Langston starred with 24 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Daniel Bejarano added 21 points and nine rebounds, and Josue Andriassi scored 12. Langston has been one of Fuerza Regia’s most consistent producers, scoring 16 points in each of the team’s two wins at Diablos Rojos earlier in August. That recent road success has helped Fuerza Regia win four of its past five games.

Gambusinos lost 71-66 at home to Diablos Rojos on Sunday. Power forward KiAndre Gaddy led the team with 23 points, six rebounds, three assists and one blocked shot. Kelby Kramer contributed seven points, nine rebounds and three blocks, while Jezreel De Jesus scored nine points with three rebounds and three assists. Gaddy has been Gambusinos’ steadiest scorer this month, with 21 points against Aguascalientes, 15 in a loss at Dorados and 14 at Soles. Despite his production, Gambusinos have lost four of their past five.

Interstat’s ELO system projects Fuerza Regia with a 93.80 percent probability to win. The home team also holds an edge with Langston fronting a roster that has beaten Irapuato twice in the past week. Gambusinos will need another strong game from Gaddy, along with improved rebounding and defense, to stay competitive in a building where Fuerza Regia has shown clear superiority.

The teams are scheduled to meet again Thursday at the same venue.
