Fuerza Regia vs. Aguascalientes
AGUASCALIENTES, Mexico (Interstat) — The Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional-leading Fuerza Regia visit the Aguascalientes Panteras on Friday, July 31, at Hermanos Carreon, aiming to extend their hold atop the standings against a home team fighting to reach .500.
Fuerza Regia (23-8) enters with the league’s best record, fueled by a two-game winning streak capped by a 95-89 overtime victory over Soles on July 26. The Panteras (14-15) split a two-game series at Diablos Rojos, winning 91-80 on July 23 before falling 91-88 on July 24. Friday’s game is the second of a back-to-back set; the teams met Thursday night in Aguascalientes, though that result was unavailable at press time.
The visiting squad boasts a potent attack led by forward Alphonso Anderson, who posted 27 points and seven rebounds in the July 26 win over Soles after scoring eight points the previous game. Guard Avry Holmes nearly notched a triple-double in that contest with nine points, eight rebounds and nine assists. Fuerza Regia has dominated the recent head-to-head series, winning six of the past eight meetings dating to September 2025, though Aguascalientes claimed a 98-88 home victory on Oct. 27, 2025.
Aguascalientes counters with point guard Jaron Martin, who averaged 16.5 points over the two games at Diablos Rojos, including 14 points, four rebounds and five assists in the July 24 loss. Center Miguel Simon added 12 points and four rebounds in that defeat, while guard Gabriel Giron led the Panteras with 17 points on July 24. The Panteras will need consistent production from Martin to keep pace with Fuerza Regia’s deep lineup.
Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. local time.
