San Luis Potosi vs. Correcaminos
CIUDAD VICTORIA, Mexico (Interstat) — The Santos de San Luis Potosi visit the Correcaminos on Friday in a matchup of two struggling Mexican LNBP teams looking to gain ground in the standings.
Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. at Gimnasio Multidisciplinario UAT Victoria. San Luis Potosi enters with a 7-13 record, while Correcaminos is 8-12.
The Santos are coming off a 95-80 home victory over Zacatecas on July 24, snapping a two-game losing streak. Forward Jermaine Haley has been a key contributor, averaging 12.5 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists over his last two outings. In the win over Zacatecas, Haley logged 29 minutes with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. He also posted 6 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in an 87-86 win against the same opponent on July 23.
Rayshawn Mart (20 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists) and Jared Wilson-Frame (21 points, 1 assist) also starred in the July 24 victory.
Correcaminos, meanwhile, are on a two-game skid after losses at Leon on July 24 (101-89) and July 23 (95-88). Guard Damien Daniels had 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in 31 minutes in the first loss, but managed only 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 18 minutes in the second.
The home team has lost three of its last five games overall, including a 114-84 defeat at Diablos Rojos on Sept. 20.
Friday’s contest is the second of back-to-back meetings between the clubs; they played Thursday in San Luis Potosi, though no score was reported. Last season, the teams split a two-game series in September 2025. Correcaminos won 87-85 on Sept. 8, while San Luis Potosi took the rematch 86-83 on Sept. 9.
Both teams are near the bottom of the LNBP standings. San Luis Potosi has shown flashes of offensive firepower, scoring 95 points in its last win, but has struggled on the road. Correcaminos has been inconsistent, particularly on defense, allowing an average of 103 points in its past two losses.
The Santos will look to Haley to continue his efficient play, while Correcaminos need Daniels to bounce back from a quiet outing. The series history suggests tight contests, with three of the last four meetings decided by six points or fewer.
A win would give either team a much-needed boost in the crowded middle of the LNBP table.
