Zacatecas vs. San Luis Potosi

SAN LUIS POTOSI, Mexico (Interstat) — The San Luis Potosi Santos host the Zacatecas franchise on Friday, July 24, at Auditorio General Miguel Barragan in a Mexican LNBP matchup that pits two teams heading in divergent directions.

Zacatecas (13-9) enters the game with a significant advantage in the standings, having won eight more games than the Santos (5-13). The visitors have dominated the head-to-head series this season, winning all five prior meetings, including a 109-86 rout on Oct. 3, 2025. Zacatecas also posted victories of 91-77, 84-66, 89-79 and a 0-0 result Thursday — though that score suggests a forfeit or undisclosed outcome.

The visitors come off a two-game set against Fuerza Regia, losing 86-73 on Tuesday after winning 88-85 the night before. In the most recent loss, center Tavario Miller, point guard Joaquin Valinotti and shooting guard Romeao Ferguson were the top producers.

Zacatecas has shown resilience despite dropping three of its last four games overall. The team’s depth and size in the frontcourt have been key factors, especially against a San Luis Potosi squad that has struggled defensively. The Santos have lost eight of their last nine contests, with their only win in that stretch coming against Dorados on Sept. 26.

San Luis Potosi’s most recent full game was the 109-86 defeat at Zacatecas, where forwards Luismal Ferreiras and Jaire Grayer, along with point guard Gary Ricks Mondragon, were the leading scorers. The Santos have allowed at least 86 points in four of their last five losses, a trend that does not bode well against a Zacatecas offense averaging nearly 88 points per game in the series.

Friday’s game is the second of a two-game set between the teams, with Thursday’s contest ending in a 0-0 draw — a rare result in professional basketball that likely points to a cancellation or postponement. Either way, the Santos face an uphill battle to slow down a Zacatecas team that has thoroughly outplayed them this season.

Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. local time.
