Irapuato vs. Dorados
CHIHUAHUA, Mexico (Interstat) — The Dorados will look to extend their dominance over the struggling Irapuato franchise when the two LNBP teams meet Friday night at Gimnasio Manuel Bernardo Aguirre.
Dorados (13-11) enter the contest riding a two-game winning streak against Irapuato this season, having blown out the visitors by scores of 105-74 on Sept. 13 and 92-66 on Sept. 14. The home team has won five of its last six games overall and sits in the upper half of the league standings.
Irapuato (1-16) owns the worst record in the LNBP and has lost 11 straight dating to its lone victory, a 94-84 home win over Xalapa on Sept. 9. The road team has been outscored by an average of 20.1 points per game during that skid.
In Irapuato’s most recent game, a 84-78 loss at Gambusinos on Sept. 26, forwards Harrison Butler and Myles Carter and guard Xavier Green were the team’s most productive players. They will need to find similar production against a Dorados defense that held Irapuato to 68.3 points per game in their two previous meetings.
Dorados are coming off a 89-83 loss at Diablos Rojos on Oct. 17, snapping a two-game winning streak. Forward Tyren Johnson, guard A.J. Banks and forward Akia Pruitt were the top performers in that loss. Johnson has been a consistent scoring threat for Dorados throughout the season.
The home team has been dominant at Gimnasio Manuel Bernardo Aguirre, dropping only three contests in front of their fans. Dorados are 8-3 at home this season, while Irapuato is 0-9 on the road.
Friday’s matchup marks the third meeting between the clubs in 2025. Dorados have won nine of the last 10 head-to-head encounters dating to the 2024 season.
Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. local time.
