MEXICO CITY (Interstat) — Adrio Bailey scored 18 points and dished four assists to lead Lobos Plateados to a 96-93 victory over Cancun El Calor on Thursday in the Mexican LNBP season opener.

Bailey, a power forward, also grabbed two rebounds and blocked a shot. Mike Myers added 18 points and four rebounds, and Shaquille Johnson contributed 17 points and five rebounds for Lobos Plateados, which improved to 1-0.

Cancun El Calor fell to 8-14. Brevin Galloway led the visitors with 19 points. D.J. Mitchell scored 12 points and Alejandro Villanueva added 10.

Lobos Plateados trailed 75-74 at halftime but outscored Cancun 22-18 in the third quarter to take the lead for good. Elias King scored 11 points and Tekele Cotton had 13 for the winners. Ivan Montano chipped in 10 points and four assists.
