SAN LUIS POTOSI (Interstat) — Jesse Zarzuela scored 30 points and collected three rebounds, three assists and one block to lead Cancun El Calor to an 89-84 overtime victory over San Luis Potosi on Wednesday night.

Brevin Galloway added 19 points and three rebounds for Cancun El Calor, which improved to 1-0. J.D. Miller finished with 11 points and six rebounds. Emmanuel Akot added eight points and six rebounds; Francis King had eight points, four rebounds and two assists. Bruno Cingala-Mata totaled five points and five rebounds, Will Ellis scored six points and Alejandro Villanueva and D.J. Mitchell also appeared.

San Luis Potosi, known as the Santos, fell to 0-2. The Santos lost their opener at Correcaminos on Aug. 1. Cancun El Calor outlasted the home team in overtime after the teams were level at the end of regulation. The game was played at Auditorio General Miguel Barragan in the Mexican LNBP.

The teams meet again Thursday in San Luis Potosi.
