BAYAMON, Puerto Rico (Interstat) — George Conditt posted 17 points and 15 rebounds and Tremont Waters added 17 points and five assists as the Bayamon Vaqueros defeated the Carolina Giants 73-71 on Saturday at Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum. Bayamon improved to 25-13; Carolina dropped to 19-16. The Vaqueros led 22-14 after the first quarter and held a 32-30 halftime edge. Carolina outscored Bayamon 24-23 in the third to pull within 55-54 entering the fourth. The teams traded leads in the final period, but Bayamon’s defense limited Carolina to 17 points. Jaylen Nowell scored 13 points for Carolina, Hunter Tyson added eight points and three rebounds, and Daniel Rivera contributed seven points off the bench. Conditt also recorded an assist and a block, and Chad Baker-Mazara added two blocks. Evander Ortiz had two assists, and Dyondre Dominguez chipped in two points and two rebounds. The victory avenged Bayamon’s 78-69 loss to Carolina on Thursday, evening their season series. The contest featured eight lead changes and three ties.
