MANATI, Puerto Rico (Interstat) — Caguas built a 14-point halftime lead and held off a fourth-quarter surge by the Atenienses to win 98-92 on Thursday night at Juan Cruz Abreu Coliseum.

Caguas scored 26 points in the first quarter and 25 in the second to take a 51-37 lead into the break. Manati narrowed the deficit to three points by outscoring the visitors 34-25 in the fourth quarter but could not complete the comeback.

Hiram Huertas led Caguas with 16 points and four assists. Travis Trice added 12 points and nine assists, Richard Nunez Rivera had 14 points and seven rebounds, and Luis Rivera also scored 16 points. Jonathan Rodriguez recorded a double-double for Manati with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Tyquan Rolon scored 12 points with four assists and four rebounds.

Caguas improved to 20-11, while Manati dropped to 13-17. The teams split their previous three meetings this season, with Manati winning two of those games, including a 98-89 victory at Caguas on June 4.
