Jal. Astros vs. Guasave
GUASAVE, Mexico (Interstat) — The Guasave Frayles will try to stave off elimination Monday when they host the Jal. Astros in Game 4 of their CIBACOPA playoff series at Gimnasio Luis Estrada.
The Astros, who hold a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series, have dominated the Frayles this season. Jal. enters the game with a 75-12 record across all competitions, while Guasave sits at 30-19. The Astros have won all seven head-to-head meetings between the teams in 2026, including two playoff games last week.
Jal. forward Tyran de Lattibeaudiere has been a key factor in the series. In a 89-76 win Wednesday, he recorded 21 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists in 26 minutes. He followed that with 15 points and 5 rebounds in 16 minutes during an 85-73 victory Tuesday. Over his last five games, de Lattibeaudiere has averaged 18.6 points and 10.0 rebounds.
For Guasave, forward Jemerrio Jones has been a consistent presence despite the losses. In Wednesday’s defeat, he posted 9 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in 34 minutes. He had 12 points and 9 rebounds in 31 minutes on Tuesday.
The Frayles will need a stronger offensive effort to compete with the high-powered Astros. Jal. has scored at least 85 points in each of the past two games, while Guasave has been held under 80 in both.
Monday’s matchup tips off at 8 p.m. local time.
