LA ASUNCION, Venezuela (Interstat) — The Margarita Guaiqueries defeated the visiting Caracas Cocodrilos 72-57 on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Gimnasio Ciudad de la Asuncion. Margarita led from the start, outscoring Caracas 17-11 in the first quarter and 18-15 in the second for a 35-26 halftime advantage. The Guaiqueries extended their lead with an 18-17 third quarter and closed with a 19-14 fourth.

Pedro Chourio led Margarita with 19 points, three rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes. Juan Guerrero added 19 points, five rebounds, one assist and one block in 29 minutes. Gelvis Solano contributed 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists. James Reese V had six points and two rebounds. For Caracas, Jhonder Gomez scored four points with two rebounds.

Margarita improved to 21-13, while Caracas fell to 24-8. The Guaiqueries have now won three of their last five meetings against the Cocodrilos, including an 84-69 victory the previous day.
