CIBACOPA: Guasave at Los Mochis

MEXICO CITY (Interstat) — The Guasave Frayles (25-17) visit the Los Mochis Pioneros (17-24) in a Mexican CIBACOPA matchup Friday at Auditorio Benito Juarez.

Guasave has won two straight meetings against Los Mochis this week, including an 89-75 victory Wednesday and a 100-94 win Tuesday. The Pioneros, however, forced overtime in a 90-88 win May 23 at Guasave.

Forward Jemerrio Jones has been a steady contributor for the Frayles. In Wednesday’s win, Jones played 27 minutes and posted 6 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists. Over his last 10 games, Jones has averaged 7.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per contest, highlighted by a 12-point, 7-rebound, 3-assist performance May 9 at Venados.

Center Arnett Moultrie leads Los Mochis. He recorded 22 points and 11 rebounds in Wednesday’s loss, and 14 points and 3 rebounds Tuesday. Moultrie has scored at least 22 points in three of his last five games, including a 27-point, 12-rebound outing May 12 against Ciudad de Mexico.

Los Mochis has lost four of its last five overall and sits below .500 at home. Guasave, meanwhile, has won three of its last four.
