BUENOS AIRES (Interstat) — Francisco Caffaro scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Boca Juniors to a 99-92 victory over Quimsa on Friday night at Estadio Luis Conde. Boca Juniors improved to 32-19, while Quimsa fell to 27-12.

Boca jumped ahead 30-17 after the first quarter and maintained a 51-38 halftime lead. Quimsa rallied in the third, outscoring the hosts 29-22 to cut the deficit to 73-67 entering the fourth, but Boca held on by scoring 26 points in the final period.

Brandon Robinson led Quimsa with 20 points. Fausto Ruesga added 16 points, and Tyren Johnson also scored 16. Sam Freeman contributed 11 points and six rebounds. For Boca, Agustin Barreiro scored 13 points with seven rebounds, Martin Cuello added 14 points and five rebounds, and Michael Smith scored 16 points. Lucas Faggiano had 11 points and two assists, while Santiago Scala scored nine.

The win avenged Boca’s 91-78 loss to Quimsa on May 25. The teams meet again Sunday in Buenos Aires.
