OBERÁ, Argentina (Interstat) — Gimnasia Indalo visits Ferro Carril Oeste on Thursday night at Hector Etchart Arena in a key Liga A matchup with playoff implications.

Gimnasia (27-12) holds the better record and enters on a high after beating Ferro Carril Oeste 79-74 on Monday. That victory was Gimnasia’s fourth win in five games, though the team dropped two of three at Independiente earlier in May. Ferro Carril Oeste (25-18) has split its last six outings, most recently losing at Gimnasia on Monday.

Thursday’s game will be the second meeting between the clubs in four days. Ferro won the earlier season matchup 84-72 on Nov. 22, 2025, but Gimnasia took the next two, including a 88-75 decision on Jan. 18.

Forward Anyelo Cisneros Sierra has been Gimnasia’s most consistent performer. In Monday’s win, he logged 28 minutes with 19 points and eight rebounds. Over his last six games, the 6-foot-8 forward has averaged 13 points and 6.3 rebounds, shooting efficiently from the floor. He posted a double-double on May 18 against Independiente with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

For Ferro Carril Oeste, small forward Jonatan Torresi leads a balanced attack. He had 15 points and six rebounds in Monday’s loss. Torresi has reached double figures in three of his last five games, including a 20-point effort against Regatas Corrientes on May 13. He also contributed 11 points in a win at Peñarol on May 2.

Both teams have relied on depth. In Monday’s game, Gimnasia also got 19 points from guard Marcos Chacon and 13 points from forward Carlos Rivero. Ferro countered with 14 points from guard Jose Defelippo and 15 points from forward Leonel Valentin Bettiga.

Gimnasia has been strong on the road, posting a 14-6 record away from home. Ferro is 13-8 at Hector Etchart Arena, a venue known for its lively crowd.

The game tips off at 8 p.m. local time. A win for Gimnasia would further solidify its position near the top of the standings, while Ferro needs a victory to keep pace in the crowded middle of the Liga A table.
