CORDOBA, Argentina (Interstat) — Instituto Cordoba defeated Quimsa 83-80 on Saturday at Angel Sandrin. The home team improved to 26-20, while Quimsa fell to 25-11. Instituto Cordoba took control in the third quarter, outscoring the visitors 30-17, erasing a 42-44 halftime deficit. Quimsa had led 42-44 after scoring 24 points in the second period but managed only 17 in the third. The visitors mounted a late push with 22 points in the fourth quarter but could not reclaim the lead.

Gaston Whelan led Instituto Cordoba with 18 points, two rebounds and one assist. Tomas Monacchi added 14 points and three rebounds. Leandro Vildoza contributed 12 points, five rebounds and nine assists. Vicente Garello recorded 10 points and seven rebounds. For Quimsa, Diego Collomb had two points, two rebounds and two assists in 13 minutes. Jerome Meyinsse added eight points and six rebounds. The win avenged a 78-66 loss to Quimsa two days earlier.
