The Gaiteros led 28-23 after the first quarter and held a 50-49 halftime edge. Zulia outscored Maracaibo 29-17 in the third quarter to seize control. The Gaiteros shot 33 of 66 from the field and 11 of 30 from three-point range, while Maracaibo shot 28 of 66 and 7 of 23 beyond the arc. Zulia dominated the boards 37-29 and assists 13-4. Jesse Zarzuela led Zulia with 17 points, six assists and three rebounds in 20 minutes. Luis Duarte added 10 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Nahziah Carter and Albert Arias each scored 16 points.
