Corinthians vs. Flamengo
RIO DE JANEIRO (Interstat) — The Flamengo basketball team hosts Corinthians on Thursday at HSBC Arena in a key NBB matchup, with the home side looking to avenge a narrow loss eight days ago.
Flamengo (32-18) holds a far superior record across all competitions, but Corinthians (20-18) stunned the powerhouse 84-83 on April 25 in Sao Paulo. Jeremy Hollowell led Corinthians with 22 points, six rebounds and eight assists in that win. The forward has been a consistent threat, averaging 18.6 points and 7.4 rebounds over his last five games.
Flamengo’s Kayo Goncalves posted 18 points and three rebounds in the April 25 loss. The center has shown flashes of production, including 12-point outings against Vasco da Gama and Cruzeiro earlier this month, but has also been held to single digits in several contests.
The teams have split their last four head-to-head meetings. Flamengo won 102-72 on April 22 in Rio, while Corinthians claimed a 96-91 victory at home on March 31. Flamengo also won 82-65 on Dec. 18, 2025.
Corinthians comes off a 1-3 stretch in its last four games, with the lone win being the thriller against Flamengo. Flamengo has lost three of its last five, including a 94-65 blowout at Nacional de Montevideo and a 81-58 loss to Boca Juniors.
Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. local time.
