Peñarol vs. Ferro Carril Oeste

OBERÁ, Argentina (Interstat) — The Argentinian Liga A continues Sunday as Peñarol visits Ferro Carril Oeste at Hector Etchart Arena. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. local time.

Ferro Carril Oeste (19-14) holds the better record, while Peñarol (16-15) looks to snap a three-game losing streak. The teams last met Friday, with Ferro winning 97-84 at home. Ferro also won the previous matchup on Sept. 28, 2025, 97-84.

Peñarol enters after a string of close losses: 84-81 at Oberá on April 16, 91-85 at La Unión on April 14, and 95-85 at Atenas on March 31. Their last victory came April 4 against Santa Fe, 85-83.

Guard Luciano Guerra leads Peñarol. In his past five games, he averaged 13.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3 assists. He scored a season-high 20 points in 28 minutes against Oberá on April 16, adding four rebounds and three assists.

Ferro Carril Oeste has won three of its last four, including an 81-74 victory at Santa Fe on April 15. The lone loss in that span was a 76-75 home defeat to Oberá on April 8.

Guard Jano David Martinez is a key contributor for Ferro. Over his last five outings, he averaged 5.6 points, 5 rebounds and 4.2 assists. He played 29 minutes against Santa Fe, recording 12 points, five rebounds and six assists.

Both guards are expected to see significant minutes, and their production could decide the outcome. Peñarol will need stronger support around Guerra, while Ferro looks to maintain its home-court edge in a tight playoff race.
