MONTREAL (Interstat) — Michael Hughes recorded 18 points, 13 rebounds and five assists to lead the Montreal Alliance to a 93-80 victory over the Saskatoon Mamba on Tuesday at Verdun Auditorium. Hughes added two blocks in 23 minutes. The Alliance improved to 3-5 in the Canadian Elite Basketball League, while Saskatoon fell to 0-2. Tavian Dunn-Martin scored a game-high 27 points for Saskatoon, with three rebounds and four assists. Lue Williams contributed 19 points and seven rebounds for Montreal, and Javon Freeman-Liberty had 18 points, six rebounds and seven assists and one block. DaJuan Gordon added 16 points and seven rebounds for Saskatoon. Quincy Guerrier chipped in 13 points and six rebounds and three assists for Montreal. Karim Mane had eight points and six rebounds and two assists for Saskatoon. Trent Johnson scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds for Montreal. Jamal Fuller totaled seven points, four rebounds, two assists and two blocks for Saskatoon. Easton Thimm added six points, four rebounds, two assists and one block. The Alliance host Ottawa on Saturday.
