Miranda vs. Maracaibo

MARACAIBO, Venezuela (Interstat) — Miranda visits Maracaibo on Tuesday in a Venezuelan SLB matchup, with both teams seeking consistency after uneven starts to the season.

Miranda (7-13) enters on a high note after a 77-65 victory Sunday, powered by a triple-double from forward Delwan Graham. Graham logged 15 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in that game, continuing a strong April run in which he averaged a double-double over his last five outings. The 6-foot-7 swingman has posted three double-doubles in his past six games, including a 17-point, 10-rebound, 7-assist effort April 14 against Falcons and a 24-point, 7-rebound performance April 4 at Avila. Graham’s versatility on both ends will be critical for Miranda, which has dropped four of its last six and owns the league’s fifth-worst record.

Maracaibo (9-12) is coming off an 85-75 loss at Margarita on Sunday, its fourth straight defeat. Guard Luis Herrera paced the team with 11 points and 7 rebounds in that game, but the club has struggled to generate consistent offense, scoring 84 or fewer points in seven of its past nine contests. Herrera, a 6-foot-2 point guard, has been productive when given minutes, averaging 8.3 points and 4.3 rebounds over his last four games, though he logged only single-digit minutes in two of those outings. Maracaibo will look to exploit a Miranda defense that has surrendered 90-plus points in three of its last four losses.

The teams met once earlier this season, with Miranda routing Maracaibo 99-72 on March 14. Tuesday’s game at Maracaibo tips off at 7 p.m. local time.
