Fraser Valley vs. Montreal
MONTREAL (Interstat) — The Canadian Elite Basketball League continues its regular season Tuesday as the Fraser Valley Bandits visit the Montreal Alliance at Verdun Auditorium.
Fraser Valley (17-9) enters the contest on a two-game winning streak after defeating the Saskatoon Rattlers 104-97 on Saturday. The Bandits have won three of their last five games and sit near the top of the CEBL standings.
Montreal (11-16) snapped a four-game skid with a 96-85 victory over the Ottawa BlackJacks on Friday. The Alliance have struggled to find consistency this season but remain within striking distance of a playoff spot.
The teams met July 17 in Fraser Valley, with the Bandits winning 93-92. Montreal led for much of that game but fell in the final moments.
Fraser Valley guard Tevin Brown has been a key contributor. In Saturday’s win over Saskatoon, Brown played 27 minutes and recorded 23 points, six rebounds and two assists. Over his last 10 games, he has averaged 17.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting efficiently. Brown’s versatility on both ends will be critical for the Bandits as they look to exploit Montreal’s defense.
Montreal point guard Blondeau Tchoukuiengo leads the Alliance offense. He posted 23 points, three rebounds and nine assists in Friday’s win over Ottawa. In his last seven appearances, Tchoukuiengo has averaged 17.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.6 assists. His ability to create shots for himself and teammates will be a focal point against a Fraser Valley defense that ranks among the league’s best.
Fraser Valley also features strong frontcourt play. Center James Karnik contributed 15 points and seven rebounds in the win over Saskatoon, while Dominic Parolin added 11 points and five rebounds. The Bandits’ depth has been a strength all season.
Montreal forward Kevin Osawe posted 21 points and 11 rebounds in Friday’s victory. Center Prince Oduro added nine points, eight rebounds and three blocks. The Alliance will need similar production to keep pace with the high-scoring Bandits.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT. The game will be streamed on CEBL+. Montreal’s next game is Thursday at Hamilton.
