Caguas vs. Santurce
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (Interstat) — The Caguas Creoles visit the Santurce Cangrejeros on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in a Baloncesto Superior Nacional matchup that pits two teams heading in different directions. Caguas (8-5 overall) carries a winning record and considerable momentum into the contest, while Santurce (5-8) looks to snap a slide and protect home court.
The Creoles have won three of their last four games, including a 97-91 victory over Carolina on May 1. In that win, point guard Travis Trice delivered 26 points, 10 assists and four rebounds in 36 minutes, continuing a dominant stretch. Over his last eight games, Trice has averaged 20.5 points and 10.8 assists, with double-digit assists in five of those contests. He also posted 17 points and 13 assists in Caguas’ 105-96 win at Santurce on April 15, one of three meetings between the clubs this season. Caguas leads the season series 2-1, also winning 90-86 on March 31, while Santurce took the middle meeting 107-102 on April 2.
The Cangrejeros enter Thursday on a two-game losing streak, most recently falling 103-92 at Ponce on May 2. Guard Jordan Howard led Santurce in that loss with 19 points, four assists and two rebounds in 34 minutes. Howard has scored in double figures in four of his last five games, including an 18-point outing at Quebradillas on April 26 and a 17-point effort vs. Bayamon on April 24. However, Santurce’s defense has been inconsistent, allowing 100 or more points in five of its last seven losses.
Caguas also got strong contributions from center Moses Brown (17 points, 12 rebounds) and forward Louis King (14 points, seven rebounds, five assists) in its most recent win. The Creoles have won four of their last five road games, with the only defeat coming by two points at Carolina on April 18.
Santurce next plays at Bayamon on Saturday, while Caguas returns home to face Manati on the same night. Thursday’s tipoff is set for 8 p.m. AST.
