Records: Winnipeg Sea Bears (15-10) vs. Hamilton Honey Badgers (9-13).
Players to Watch: Hamilton forward Trentyn Flowers has averaged 24.7 points over his last six games, including a 31-point effort July 12 in a win at Ottawa. The Matchup: The Winnipeg Sea Bears return home seeking to build on their 15-10 record when they host the Hamilton Honey Badgers on Saturday. Winnipeg enters the contest following a 29-point rout of Montreal, while Hamilton dropped its most recent game 99-90 at Niagara on July 16.
Winnipeg holds a slight edge in the season series, having split two meetings. The Honey Badgers earned a 96-92 home win May 25, but the Sea Bears responded with a 92-60 blowout in Winnipeg on Aug. 8, 2025.
Teddy Allen has been the catalyst for Winnipeg throughout the season, averaging 28.2 points over his last nine games. He has surpassed 30 points in four of those contests, including back-to-back 35-point efforts against Edmonton on July 5 and July 9. Allen shot 54% from the field in the win over Montreal and has recorded double-doubles in three of his last four games.
Hamilton counters with Flowers, who has been the team’s most consistent performer amid a challenging stretch. The Honey Badgers have lost four of their last six games and sit five games below .500. Flowers posted 28 points, six rebounds and six assists July 16 against Niagara and provided 22 points in a July 2 win over Ottawa. He has scored at least 20 points in every game this month.
The Honey Badgers rank among the CEBL’s bottom half defensively, allowing 96.7 points per game over their last 10 contests. Winnipeg has fared better, holding opponents to 89.2 points per game in that same span.
Hamilton will look to slow the pace and limit transition opportunities against a Winnipeg team that scored 32 fast-break points against Montreal. The Sea Bears also forced 17 turnovers in that game and converted them into 24 points.
The Honey Badgers’ schedule does not get easier; they host Montreal on July 30. Winnipeg will host Ottawa on July 31.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CDT.
