OTTAWA (Interstat) — Javonte Smart scored 38 points with six rebounds and six assists to lead the Ottawa Blackjacks to a 104-77 victory over the Montreal Alliance on Wednesday at TD Place. Ottawa improved to 10-11, while Montreal fell to 9-13.

Ottawa dominated from the start, outscoring Montreal 23-17 in the first quarter and 26-18 in the second to take a 49-35 halftime lead. The Blackjacks extended the margin in the third, winning the quarter 27-16, and closed with a 28-26 advantage in the fourth.

Isaih Moore added 12 points, 11 rebounds and six assists for Ottawa. Alex Fudge contributed eight points and 12 rebounds, and Kobe Elvis scored 12 points with five assists. Miryne Thomas had 14 points off the bench.

Montreal struggled offensively, shooting 17, 18, 16 and 26 points in the respective quarters. The loss was Montreal’s second straight after a 97-84 defeat to Scarborough on July 3.

Ottawa had won its previous matchup against Montreal 90-79 on May 31. The teams will meet again July 24 in Montreal.
