Venados vs. Obregon

SAN SALVADOR DE JUJUY, Argentina (Interstat) — A stark contrast in form will be on display Saturday when the surging Obregon hosts the struggling Venados in a Mexican CIBACOPA matchup at Gimnasio Manuel Lira.

Obregon (9-5) enters the contest riding momentum from a 94-76 victory over Guasave last Saturday, powered by a dominant 27-point, 8-rebound performance from forward Justin Moss. The team has won four of its last six games and sits firmly above .500.

Venados (4-13), meanwhile, is mired in a deep slump, having lost nine consecutive games. Their most recent defeat was an 84-88 home loss to Guaymas on Tuesday. Center Dakota Quinn was a bright spot in that loss, scoring 17 points and grabbing 7 rebounds, but his efforts have not translated into team success.

The teams met just one day prior, on Friday, March 27, though no result from that contest was provided. Saturday’s game will serve as the second leg of a quick back-to-back set in this neutral-site series in Argentina.

Moss has been Obregon’s engine, averaging 19.3 points and 5.2 rebounds over his last six outings. His explosiveness will challenge a Venados defense that has allowed an average of 95.2 points during its nine-game skid.

For Venados, Quinn has been a consistent interior presence, averaging 9.3 points and 5.8 rebounds over his last nine games. Support from guards Clyde Trapp and Devonte Bandoo, who combined for 32 points in the loss to Guaymas, will be critical if Venados hopes to snap its lengthy losing streak.

Obregon’s balanced attack, which also features Jaden House and playmaker Josh Perkins, who dished 14 assists in the win over Guasave, will be heavily favored. Venados must find a way to improve its defensive cohesion and generate consistent offense beyond Quinn to pull off an upset.

The game is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026.
