Paraiba vs. Osasco Basquete

Preview: Paraiba Visits Osasco Basquete in NBB Matchup

OSASCO, Brazil (Interstat) — Two teams at opposite ends of the NBB standings meet Friday when Paraiba visits Osasco Basquete.

The game, scheduled for April 3, 2026, pits a Paraiba squad (12-16) seeking consistency against an Osasco Basquete team (5-28) desperate to halt a prolonged slump. Despite their losing record, Paraiba enters as a clear favorite, having handily defeated Osasco 89-70 in their last meeting on Dec. 12, 2025.

Paraiba relies on center Joao Almeida, who is coming off a strong 14-point, 9-rebound performance in a loss to Bauru on March 21. Over his last five games, Almeida has averaged 10.6 points and 5.0 rebounds, providing a steady interior presence. Guard Henrique Coelho, who scored 20 points against Bauru, offers additional scoring punch.

Osasco Basquete’s hopes likely rest with forward Eddy Carvalho. He is capable of explosive performances, as shown by his 22-point, 6-rebound effort against Minas on March 22. However, his production has been volatile, scoring just three points the following game. Consistency from Carvalho and support from guards Matheus Leoni and Bruno Caribaux will be crucial for the home team.

Osasco has lost seven of its last eight games, with its only recent victory a 90-89 overtime win against Cearense. Paraiba has been marginally better, going 2-3 in its last five contests, but has struggled on the road.

A Paraiba victory would solidify its position in the mid-table, while a win for Osasco would provide a rare bright spot in a difficult season. Tipoff is set for Friday evening at Ginásio José Liberatti.
