Minas vs. Osasco Basquete
Preview: Minas Looks to Continue Climb Against Struggling Osasco
SAO PAULO (Interstat) — A clash between teams at opposite ends of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) standings is set for Sunday when powerhouse Minas visits last-place Osasco Basquete.
Minas (26-10 overall) enters riding a two-game winning streak, most recently defeating Caxias Do Sul 81-75 on Thursday. The team sits among the league’s elite and is focused on maintaining momentum for the upcoming playoffs. Osasco Basquete (5-26), meanwhile, is mired in a difficult season but is coming off a rare 90-89 overtime victory against Cearense on March 17.
The matchup features two of the league’s most dynamic individual talents. For Minas, center Winicius Silva Braga has been a consistent force. He is averaging 13.8 points and 6.3 rebounds over his last six games, including a 15-point, 8-rebound performance in the win over Caxias Do Sul.
Osasco’s hopes will rest heavily on guard Anthony Harris, who is in the midst of a spectacular individual run. Harris is averaging 21.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists over his last six contests. He exploded for 32 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists in the overtime win over Cearense, demonstrating his ability to single-handedly keep his team competitive.
The teams last met on Nov. 15, 2025, with Minas securing an 86-81 home victory. The historical disparity and current form suggest a steep challenge for the hosts. Minas boasts a deep and balanced attack, with Jordan Williams (20 points vs. Caxias) and Rafael Silva (18 points) providing key support.
Osasco, which has lost 10 of its last 12 games, will need another heroic effort from Harris and improved production from its frontcourt, namely Hatila Passos and Vinicius Malachias, to challenge the visitors.
The game tips off at 4 p.m. local time at Jose Liberatti Gymnasium in Osasco.
