(Interstat) — Paraiba built a large early lead and withstood a late push to defeat Cruzeiro 101 to 91 in a Brazilian NBB game Tuesday night. The visitors led by 14 at halftime and maintained a double-digit advantage for most of the second half before Cruzeiro’s fourth-quarter surge.

Yohanner Sifontes led Paraiba with 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, falling just short of a triple-double. Yosani Clay scored a game-high 21 points for Cruzeiro in the loss.

The result improved Paraiba’s record to 16-18, while Cruzeiro fell to 12-24. The teams split their two-game season series.
