Cruzeiro vs. Vasco da Gama

Preview: Cruzeiro Faces Vasco da Gama in NBB Matchup

RIO DE JANEIRO (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to halt lengthy slides will meet Saturday when Cruzeiro visits Vasco da Gama in a Brazilian Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) contest at Ginásio São Januário.

The matchup features clubs at the bottom of the league table. Cruzeiro (11-23) arrives having lost four consecutive games, including a 90-84 road defeat to Flamengo on Wednesday. Vasco da Gama (5-27) has lost three straight and nine of its last ten, most recently falling 109-88 to Minas on April 4.

Despite their struggles, both sides feature productive big men. Cruzeiro will rely on center Tulio Da Silva, who is averaging a double-double over his last four games. He posted 18 points and 11 rebounds in the loss to Flamengo. For Vasco da Gama, center Guillherme Silva has been a consistent scorer, reaching double figures in points in four straight contests, including a 16-point performance against Minas.

The teams last met on Dec. 23, 2025, with Cruzeiro securing a 79-75 home victory.

Cruzeiro’s recent road form has been poor, with losses in seven of their last eight away fixtures. Vasco da Gama has found wins scarce anywhere, holding a 3-12 record at home this season.

Following this game, Cruzeiro will host Paraiba on Tuesday. Vasco da Gama faces a daunting Rio derby at Flamengo on Tuesday.

Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday evening in Rio de Janeiro.
