Regatas Corrientes vs. Sante Fe

SANTA FE, Argentina (Interstat) — A pivotal Liga Nacional matchup with playoff implications tips off Thursday when Regatas Corrientes visits Sante Fe at the Angel P. Malvicino stadium.

The visiting Regatas (16-13) enter with a stronger overall record and momentum from a 77-70 victory over Ferro Carril Oeste on Monday. Guard Juan Pablo Corbalan led that effort with 16 points and six rebounds, continuing a stretch of consistent scoring. Over his last six games, Corbalan has averaged 12.5 points, including a 20-point performance against Gimnasia Indalo on March 9.

Sante Fe (10-15) looks to halt a recent skid, having lost four of its last five contests. The team is coming off a 101-83 home loss to Olimpico on Monday, despite a season-high 21 points from forward Felipe Queiroz. Queiroz’s production has been volatile, however, scoring in single digits in three of his last five appearances.

The season series stands at 1-0 in favor of Sante Fe following a narrow 74-73 road win on Oct. 21, 2025. That result adds a layer of urgency for Regatas Corrientes, which currently holds a more favorable position in the league table.

For Regatas, support for Corbalan comes from Juan Palacios, who posted 18 points and six rebounds in the recent win, and Andres Jaime, who added 15 points. Sante Fe will rely on Queiroz and center Theo Akwuba, who had 12 points and five rebounds against Olimpico.

The game represents a critical opportunity for Sante Fe to improve its standing at home, while Regatas Corrientes aims to solidify its playoff positioning and avenge its earlier loss to its rival.
