San Martin vs. Platense

Preview: San Martin Looks to Continue Momentum Against Platense in Liga A Clash

VICENTE LOPEZ, Argentina (Interstat) — Two teams seeking consistency late in the season will meet Friday when San Martin visits Platense in an Argentinian Liga A matchup at Estadio Ciudad de Vicente Lopez.

San Martin (14-17 overall) enters with modest momentum, having won three of its last five games, including a 78-67 victory over Olimpico on Sunday. Platense (13-21) has struggled more recently, dropping three of its last five, but is coming off a high-scoring 98-86 road win against Independiente on April 7.

The visiting San Martin will lean on guard Victor Fernandez, who is averaging 16.6 points over his last five games. He is coming off a 21-point performance in the win over Olimpico. Center Daniel Lima, who had 14 points and seven rebounds in that game, provides a key interior presence.

Platense counters with forward Robert Woodard, who posted 20 points and nine rebounds in the victory over Independiente. He has been a steady contributor on both ends, averaging 9.8 points and 6.2 rebounds over his last five contests. Guard Juan Guerrero, who scored 21 points in the last outing, offers additional scoring punch.

The teams last met on Dec. 12, 2025, with San Martin securing an 85-63 home victory. Friday’s contest presents a chance for Platense to avenge that loss on its home floor.

San Martin has shown a pattern of alternating wins and losses recently, while Platense’s results have been similarly uneven. Both clubs sit outside the upper tier of the league table, making this a battle for positioning and positive momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.

San Martin’s next game is a quick turnaround at Sante Fe on Sunday. Platense’s schedule following Friday’s game was not immediately available.

Tip-off is scheduled for Friday evening.
