Sante Fe vs. Gimnasia Indalo

Gimnasia Indalo Hosts Sante Fe in Liga A Clash

COMODORO RIVADAVIA, Argentina (Interstat) — The surging Gimnasia Indalo hosts struggling Sante Fe on Wednesday in an Argentinian Liga A matchup at Estadio Socios Fundadores.

The teams are on opposite trajectories. Gimnasia Indalo (21-9) enters with one of the league’s best records and has won five consecutive games, including an 81-73 road victory over San Lorenzo on March 30. Sante Fe (10-18) has lost seven of its last eight, most recently falling 85-83 at Peñarol on April 4.

The home team will rely on forward Anyelo Cisneros Sierra, who is averaging 13.6 points and 6.4 rebounds over his last five games. He posted 23 points and 10 rebounds in a narrow overtime win at Obera on March 28.

Sante Fe’s hopes likely rest with guard Franco Balbi, who is coming off a season-high 35-point performance in the loss to Peñarol. Over his last three games, Balbi is averaging 21.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists.

In the teams’ previous meeting this season, Sante Fe secured an 88-75 home win on Jan. 9. Replicating that result on the road will be a significant challenge against a Gimnasia Indalo squad that has been dominant at home.

Following this contest, Gimnasia Indalo will host Instituto Cordoba on Saturday. Sante Fe’s next game is at home against Ferro Carril Oeste on April 15.

Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. local time Wednesday.
