Olimpico vs. Sante Fe
SANTA FE, Argentina (Interstat) — Two teams seeking consistency will meet Monday when Olimpico visits Sante Fe in an Argentinian Liga A matchup at Angel P. Malvicino.
Both clubs enter with identical 10-win records, though Sante Fe (10-14) has played three fewer games than Olimpico (10-17). The meeting is a chance for either squad to build momentum in the latter stage of the season.
Olimpico arrives fresh off its best performance of the season, a 93-85 home victory over Obras Sanitarias on Thursday. Center Gonzalo Bressan dominated with 26 points and 13 rebounds, continuing a stellar individual stretch. Over his last three games, Bressan is averaging 21.0 points and 8.3 rebounds. His frontcourt partner, Jose Ascanio, added 19 points and 12 rebounds in the win.
Sante Fe also snapped a skid in its last outing, routing Argentino de Junin 91-71 on the road Wednesday. Forward Yeferson Guerra led the charge with 25 points, bouncing back from a quiet 5-point performance in a loss to Racing de Chiv two days prior. Guerra has shown high-scoring potential, averaging 16.0 points over his last four contests.
The teams last met on Nov. 7, 2025, with Olimpico delivering a commanding 96-70 home victory. Olimpico will look to replicate that defensive effort against a Sante Fe team that has struggled at times, including a 103-75 road loss to Independiente last month.
For Olimpico, maintaining the offensive balance seen against Obras, where Santiago Douthat contributed 18 points in just 10 minutes off the bench, will be key. Sante Fe will rely on Guerra’s scoring and the playmaking of guard Franco Balbi, who nearly recorded a triple-double (15 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists) in Wednesday’s win.
Tipoff is set for Monday night in Santa Fe.
