BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Interstat) — Boca Juniors pulled away in the middle quarters to defeat Peñarol 86-70 in Argentinian Liga A basketball action Tuesday at Estadio Luis Conde.

The home team used a decisive second quarter, outscoring Peñarol 25-10, to build a 44-35 halftime lead and never looked back. Boca Juniors extended its advantage with a 23-point third quarter. Agustin Perez led Peñarol with 18 points. Boca Juniors had a balanced attack, with Martin Cuello scoring 14 points and Francisco Caffaro adding 13 points and eight rebounds. The victory improved Boca Juniors to 18-16 this season, while Peñarol fell to 13-12.
