Gimnasia Indalo vs. Obras Sanitarias
Preview: Gimnasia Indalo at Obras Sanitarias
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Interstat) — A clash between two of the Liga A’s top sides will highlight Sunday’s slate as Obras Sanitarias hosts Gimnasia Indalo at Estadio Obras Sanitarias.
The home side (11-6) enters with a superior record but seeks to rebound from a disappointing 83-69 home loss to Sante Fe on Tuesday. The visiting Gimnasia (8-5) rides a wave of momentum after an 84-72 road victory over Platense on Wednesday.
The matchup features two of the league’s most dynamic scorers. Obras will rely on guard Ty Sabin, who has been in stellar form. He averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in consecutive wins over San Lorenzo and Platense in late December. Containing him will be a primary focus for Gimnasia’s defense.
For the visitors, forward Anyelo Cisneros Sierra is coming off a dominant performance, scoring 23 points with 5 rebounds in 27 minutes against Platense. His efficiency and scoring punch will be critical for Gimnasia to secure a road win.
Obras Sanitarias has shown both high peaks and recent inconsistency, alternating between a three-game win streak and its latest loss. Gimnasia Indalo has won three of its last four, including a 101-point offensive explosion against Regatas Corrientes in November, demonstrating its potent scoring capability.
The season series will see a quick rematch, with Obras traveling to face Gimnasia on Feb. 15. But Sunday’s contest offers both teams a chance to establish an early upper hand and solidify their positioning in the league table.
Tip-off is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, in Buenos Aires.
