Diablos Rojos vs. Fuerza Regia

SAN PEDRO GARZA GARCIA, Mexico (Interstat) — Fuerza Regia, holding a commanding 2-0 series lead, will look to complete a sweep of Diablos Rojos when the Mexican LNBP playoff series shifts to Gimnasio Nuevo Leon for Game 3 on Friday.

The top-seeded Fuerza Regia (22-8) has dominated the opening two games of the series on the road, winning 96-75 on Monday and 87-78 on Tuesday. The team’s backcourt of Scott Bamforth and Avry Holmes has been instrumental. Bamforth scored 25 points in the most recent victory, while Holmes added 12 points and seven assists. Center Josh Ibarra controlled the paint with 16 rebounds.

Diablos Rojos (19-13), now facing elimination, must find an answer on both ends of the court after struggling against Fuerza Regia’s efficiency. Michael Carrera led the team with 22 points in Tuesday’s loss, but the supporting cast struggled to provide consistent scoring.

The regular-season series was split, with each team winning two games on their home court in August. However, Fuerza Regia’s recent form and playoff performance have established them as the clear favorite, especially returning to their home floor where they have been strong all season.

A Fuerza Regia victory would end the series and advance the club in the LNBP playoffs. Diablos Rojos must win to force a Game 4, scheduled for Saturday at the same venue.
