La Union vs. Independiente
LA PLATA, Argentina (Interstat) — Two teams on opposite trajectories will meet Tuesday when La Union visits Independiente in a Liga A matchup.
La Union (5-3) enters the contest riding high after a dominant 98-80 victory over Argentino de Junin on Oct. 24. The win snapped a two-game skid for a club that has shown promise in the early season. La Union was powered by a balanced frontcourt in its last outing, with Sebastian Acevedo (15 points, 10 rebounds), Mariano Marina (14 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists) and Windi Graterol (15 points) all posting strong numbers.
Independiente (4-3), meanwhile, looks to rebound on its home court after a heartbreaking 84-83 loss to Obera on Nov. 1. The narrow defeat was the second in three games for a club that has been inconsistent. In the loss, Jose Rolfi Fortunato led the way with 17 points and 5 assists, supported by Enzo Filipetti (13 points, 6 rebounds) and Francisco Conrradi (14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists).
The game presents a classic contrast. La Union brings momentum from a blowout win and seeks to build a winning streak, while Independiente aims to defend its home floor and stop its recent slide. Tipoff is scheduled for Tuesday night.
